Xenical, also known as Orlistat is a drug that helps in weight loss. It works by preventing your body from absorbing the fat contained in food.
As with any other drug you must take xenical by following all the recommendations. But as it is a fat blocker and not an appetite reducer, most people experience few if any side effects when they take Xenical correctly.
Doctors recommend a dosage of no more than 120mg. This dosage should be taken three times a day before meals. There is no added weight loss benefit to taking a higher dose.
Because Xenical prevents fat from being absorbed it can also decrease your body's absorbtion of important vitamins and minerals. To compensate for this decrease in vitamins, you may want to consider taking vitamins D,E,K and beta-carotene. You should take the vitamin supplement at least two hours before you need to take the Xenical supplement.
Xenical should always be combined with a reduced fat and calorie diet. This will not only promote weight reduction but also prevent you from experiencing any of the Xenical side effects associated with Xenical.
